Fresh raspberry puree, tart cherry and lingonberry flavors are precise and focused, with pretty accents of clove, oolong tea, crushed pine needles and dried sage on a muscular frame. The finish shows supple tannins alongside violet and rose petal notes.
The core of fruit flavors includes blood orange, raspberry and candied cherry set on a dense, muscular frame, with details of lavender, a touch of tomato leaf and a green cardamom note on the finish
The 2023 Pinot Noir is chalky and light, with notes of wild summer strawberry and pink peppercorns, some creamy texture to the acidity through the middle palate and a silky shape to the tannins. This is a lightly framed wine, and I applaud its delicacy and restraint.
A lucid lift of heady aromas, from blueberry and cherry to pressed rose petals and dried herbs, leads to an elegant palate. There’s drive, balance and a crowd-pleasing factor that makes this modern, North Island Pinot an easy sip solo, but also capable of evolving over the next several years
This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Craggy Range in New Zealand opens with a cranberry and mild strawberry bouquet with hints of tea and toasted coconut. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and caressing. The flavor profile is a wild strawberry and red plum blend with notes of bacon and tea. I also detected hints of cardamom and coconut flakes towards the end. The finish is dry, and its mild tannins and flavors fade away nicely.
