Black raspberry, black olive, dried red cherry, cranberry and white blossom fill out the nose of this wine. The midpalate is chalky with tart red fruit that persists through to the long finish. Acidity enlivens the palate experience. Pair with rich and creamy dishes
The 2022 Morgon offers a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, leaning toward the latter with aeration, nicely defined if just in need of more personality. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe tannins, fleshy and well-balanced. Hints of orange rind and cassis emerge toward a finish with the sapidity to tempt you back for another sip. Well-made. Drink it over four to six years.
Blueberries, dark cherries, wet earth and some ash on the nose. It’s tight and firm on the palate with sturdy tannins and a medium to full body. Firm and meaty. Drink or hold.
This ruby colored Beaujolais from the Morgon commune opens with a black raspberry, black cherry, and cigar box bouquet with hints of loam and strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and very juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant and cherry blend with notes of gentle loam and saline. I also detected hints of oak and juicy red plum. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build-up nicely and stick around for quite a while.
This wine is ripe, full of black fruits and rich tannins. It is young, the berry flavors bursting with energy through the firm structure. The wine needs aging, so drink from 2025
