This is a fresh and fruity cabernet franc. Blueberries, raspberries, sliced chiles and moss on the nose follow through to a medium palate. Fine, lightly sappy tannins.
Plum and smoky aromas are subtle on the nose of this easy-sipping red. Flavors of tart cherry and grass fill the mouth. The smooth palate features soft tannins and lively acidity, providing a fresh finish that includes leafy notes.
The 2020 Estate Cabernet Franc was produced with grapes from their Campo de los Andes vineyard in Vista Flores. It fermented in concrete vats, and 50% of the wine matured in used barriques for 12 months. It’s peppery, herbal and varietal, with controlled ripeness and 14% alcohol, but it shows the effect of the warmer year with a riper profile and not the same quality of tannins. But it’s still very good and especially at this price.
A chewy cabernet franc with some red cherries, olives and spices to the nose. Simple but fresh and direct on the palate with a medium body. Rather grainy in the finish. Drink now.
