This is Tenuta di Biserno's founding wine. The label depicts a wild boar (cinghiale) and the name “Insoglio” is the place where the wild boar goes to root and roll. The cinghiale is an expression of the soul and culture of the Maremma. Insoglio di Cinghiale is richly fruity, exquisitely structured, and its strong territorial character offers smooth drinkability and extreme versatility.

Harvest Note
The 2023 vintage can be described as unique, especially when compared to the previous one. Winter and spring were mostly mild, but May and the first part of June were characterized by a high frequency of rainfall. This allowed the soil to become enriched with water reserves that were useful in facing the hot and dry temperatures of the summer period, which could be overcome without combined with the privileged position of the vineyards, led to optimal ripening of the grapes and confirmed an absolutely remarkable vintage.
Tasting Note
Violet, berries and light peppery spice. Clear aromas of Mediterranean maquis such as myrtle and rosemary, boisée nuance well integrated with roasting notes. Enveloping, fresh and medium-bodied, with well-smoothed tannins. The pleasant drinkability is combined with excellent persistence.
Food Pairing
Pair with braised or roasted meats and hard cheeses.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is adaptable to various growing conditions, and is known for its low yield and late ripeness. It generally produces full-bodied wines with substantial acidity and tannins.
Merlot
Merlot makes plump, succulent wines to drink young or opulently massive wines for aging. Has silky, blackberry and currant fruit, with spice, earth, tobacco and chocolate notes, and soft tannins.
Petit Verdot
Petit Verdot makes a dark, firmly structured, tannic wine with superbly balancing acidity, and fresh, full flavors and aromas of spice, pepper and black fruits with notes of violets.
Syrah
Syrah has seductively dense, rich, chewy black berry aromas and flavors, with notes of tar, wood smoke, bacon, leather, chocolate, and sometimes violets. The tannins are firm yet elegant.
