This clos is not far from the village of Pernand, on calcareous, stony soil, facing east. The Croix de Pierre is a large stone cross at the entrance to the vineyard. Most of the vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir. The fruit is fermented in tanks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for about 15 months before bottling.
This powerful wine’s ripe black berry aromas develop into supple tannins prior to a long finish. It will develop in the bottle for five to eight years.
