Fixin is the northernmost of the chain of 30 villages that makes up the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard slopes face east on limestone and marl soils, and the elevation ranges from 270 meters to 360 meters. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented for about four weeks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 15 months before bottling.
With solid tannic and acidic structure, Fixin is a wine of power, able to mature for five to eight years in the bottle.
