Beaune Boucherottes is one of 36 Premier Cru vineyards in the Beaune appellation. The high number of Premiers Crus is accounted for by the situation of most of the Beaune vineyards on a slope, which gives them superior sun exposure. Beaune Boucherottes lies at the southern end of the commune, where it shares a border with Pommard. The deep clay soil of this 21-acre vineyard gives lushness to the wine, which is fermented in stainless steel, then matured in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months before bottling.
A full-bodied, aromatic Pinot Noir with a rich roundness of fruit and plump texture arrayed around a rigorous structure. This wine will develop favorably in the bottle for 12 to 15 years.
