For wine drinkers, Italy’s Tuscany remains one of the most exciting regions to come back to time and again. In the minds of many, Tuscany’s picturesque rolling hills are deeply linked to the image of Italian wine, and the region is the source of Bolgheri, Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico, some of the most celebrated wines in the world. The Toscana IGT designation, which spans the region, has also grown a global reputation with wines—like well-known super Tuscans—made from international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
