Our Team
Tara was born in New Jersey, USA and she only dreamed of one day having a winery in Italy. Her passion for wine started early, and while studying for her master’s at Columbia University she would often attend courses from the Wine Spirits Education Trust. She immersed herself in the wine world by working at fine wine shops in NYC. After completing graduate school, Tara met her husband Giovanni while working a grape harvest in Bolgheri.
Since moving to Europe Tara and her husband Giovanni have travelled around the world’s top wineries to further develop their knowledge in winemaking. Upon Giovanni inheriting Tenuta di Salviano, she has been totally engaged alongside him and the estate’s winemaking team. Very inspired by the natural beauty and strong sense of local community. Tara endeavors to transmit these feeling through the estate’s offerings.
