Giovanni was born in Bolgheri, Italy as the son of Il Marchese Enrico Incisa della Rocchetta and Donna Nerina Corsini. His destiny in the wine industry was clearly written as the grandson and creator of Sassicaia il Marchese Mario Incisa della Rochetta and the illustrious Corsini family. Giovanni spent the early part of his life in Switzerland where he attended boarding school at Le Rosey in Rolle and completed his bachelor’s degree at Webster University in Geneva.
He later worked in banking and moved into winemaking on inheriting Tenuta di Salviano and Castello di Titignano in 2016. Giovanni embarked on the opportunity to continue the longstanding success of both estates. As head of the Il Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta family, Giovanni is a big promoter of his family history. He finds great pleasure in sharing family stories and preserving and showcasing the history of his ancestors.
