Our Team

Tara’s parents – New Zealander Neil Empson and native Rhode Islander Maria Gemma – moved to Italy in 1969 and founded Emspon & Co. in 1972. Tara always knew what she wanted to do when she grew up: to follow in her parents’ footsteps and work in the wine industry. Following her University studies, Tara began her career at Empson, thereby fulfi lling her childhood dream. Tara is now eager to live up to her parents’ legacy by investing in better ways to strengthen the Empson business model while expanding the company’s global footprint. Tara is honored to represent the wineries, and her personal goal is to ensure that the Empson business evolves with the market by meeting its expectations and by bringing back the value in tradition.
