We had fun this month sipping eight wines from five countries and three vintages. It’s a rare review where most of the wines are white and not red. But hey, sometimes that’s how our palates roll.
Lemon and lime are very distinct. Decent acid, versatile food wine, not too tart. To read an Italian label: Villa Matilde is the maker, Fiano is the grape, di indicates ‘of’ and Avellino is the place. DOCG is Denominazione di Origene Controllata e Garantita – DOCG is the highest of three authentic stamps of approval given to wines that follow certain aging and winemaking restrictions.
