Vinified from certified organic grapes, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a little reductive at this showing. Time in the glass brings out ripe red fruits mingling with licorice and leafy undertones. Smooth tannins gently frame the medium- to full-bodied 2021, culminating in a bright and fruit-driven finish.
Cured tobacco, graphite and milled pepper notes offer an aromatic thread that wafts through the ripe black and red cherry fruit flavors, with accents of iron, espresso and licorice. Chalky tannins are firm on the finish
The 2021 Etna Rosso Animardenta Santo Spirito is wickedly fresh, opening with a whiff of savory herbs and crushed rocks that gives way to wild strawberries and rose petals. This possesses a lovely inner sweetness that’s further enhanced by ripe red berries as autumnal spices swirl atop a core of grippy tannin. The 2021 finishes long, gently tannic and beautifully balanced. A note of licorice remains on the close.
A firm and spicy red with a deep core of ripe fruit and a cedary aftertaste. It offers notes of ripe cherries, wild berries, dark chocolate, ground cloves and bark. Full, compact and pretty tight on the palate, with chewy tannins. A bit austere at the end, but nicely filled with fruit.
Beeswax, chamomile, herb and pomelo aromas here. Some salty undertones on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Spicy, too, with a waxy texture and long, persistent layers
