Zind-Humbrecht

Alsace Wine Region

July 10, 2024

Alsace lies on the French border with Germany and, like its neighbor, grows many of the same grapes and produces some of the world’s most noteworthy dry Rieslings. Alsace’s Rieslings are not light wines, but they have a combination of fruitiness and richness quite different from their German counterparts.

The Alsace AOC accounts for the majority of the region’s wines, representing more than 70% of production. Most are made from a single varietal, which is reflected on the label. Producers calling themselves or “Domaine,” such Zind-Humbrecht, are supposed to only use grapes from their own vineyards.
